Never joke about what else can go wrong.

Never joke about what else can go wrong.

I should have knocked on wood. Our batteries seemed low but we did an awful lot of spinning the starter in the last few days trying to get back prime, but just the same we put more miles on and we see good voltage from alternators and batteries. That is until we stopped to get a sandwich and some fuel, our attempt to start made it immediately evident they were not going to make the ride home…

We pulled the battery tray and immediately noticed all four batteries looked like wet leaky swollen black basketballs.. We found the nearest Interstate Battery Center online and were off to Meridian ID. We called ahead so they would have four Windriver AGM 250AH 6V GC2 batteries for us. They offered to install for free, we laughed and told them to look before they leap! Our batteries were at this point dripping acid, as a courtesy we told them we would take care of install if they carted them off for disposal. Almost $1600 bucks later, no discount from the manager who sat smiling inside the coach drivers seat while we were removing the batteries, then we were back on the road towards Boston.

310 miles down, 2783 miles to go!
